DESCRIPTION:TOWN OF ADAMS \nBoard of Review \nWednesday\, May 17\, 2023  \nAgenda \nBoard of Review – 5:00pm \n\nCall Board of Review (BOR) to order.\nRoll Call.\nConfirmation of appropriate BOR and Open Meetings notices.\nSelect a Chairperson for BOR.\nSelect a BOR Vice-Chairperson.\nVerify that at least one BOR member has met the annual mandatory training requirements.\nReceipt of the assessment roll by the Clerk from the Assessor.\nReceive the Assessment Roll and sworn statements from the Clerk.\nReview the Assessment Roll and perform statutory duties:\n\nExamine the roll\,\nCorrect description or calculation errors\,\nAdd omitted property\, and\nEliminate double assessed property.\n\n\nDiscussion/Action – Certify all corrections of error under state law (Wis. Stat. § 70.43).\nDiscussion/Action – Verify with the Assessor that open book changes are included in the assessment roll.\nAllow taxpayers to examine assessment data.\nDuring the first two hours\, consideration of:\n\nWaivers of the required 48-hour notice of intent to file an objection when there is good cause\,\nRequests for waiver of the BOR hearing allowing the property owner an appeal directly to the circuit court\,\nRequests to testify by telephone or submit a sworn written statement\,\nSubpoena requests\, and\nAct on any other legally allowed or required BOR matters.\n\n\nReview Notices of Intent to File Objection.\nProceed to hear objections\, if any\, and if proper notice/waivers given\, unless scheduled for another date.\nConsider/act on scheduling additional BOR Date(s).\nAdjourn
